Brunei Moves to Align with IPU, CPA to Boost Global Ties
Lawmakers emphasized that aligning with these international bodies will bolster parliamentary diplomacy and promote stronger bilateral and multilateral relationships.
Haji Erywan Mohd Yusof, the Second Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that Brunei’s participation in the IPU and CPA will foster dialogue on global issues while showcasing the nation's distinct values to the world.
Legislative Council member Haji Suyoi Osman described the membership as “a strategic step,” aligning with the country’s goal to elevate the council’s influence and function.
Fellow council member Awang Zainol Mohamed added that joining the IPU and CPA will contribute to building a more transparent, responsive, and professional legislative framework.
